The SAILS program is a special education program developed to address the comprehensive needs of students with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) diagnosis. The SAILS program emphasizes developmental and functional skills in all cognitive areas. Instruction is primarily focused on addressing functional, socially significant goals, cognitive skills, improving communication skills and decreasing behaviors that interfere with a student's success. The program addresses the regulation of sensory functioning to better help the students with modulation and arousal.

Program Components

Based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis
High staff to student ratio
1:1 and small group academic instruction
Individualized behavior supports
Systematic data driven instruction
Functional application of content area instruction
Systematic delivery of instruction that promotes generalization and application of mastered skills
Assistive technology consultant to provide support with the implementation of instructional tools, software and products to enhance learning
