TLC Program

Therapeutic Learning Center
Marblehead High School, grades 9-12

The High School TLC Program is a full day special education program designed to address the needs of students diagnosed with emotional and/or behavioral disabilities that interfere with successful independent learning in the general education classroom. The TLC program has three special education teachers providing an intensity of support to students on different levels. Some students in the TLC program are able to attend general education classes and access the TLC program as a support for their emotional and curricular needs; others need the TLC program to receive most, if not all, of their subject matter learning within a small group setting. Still others have behavioral needs that interfere with their participation in general education classes and receive a portion of their instruction in a small group as part of the TLC program. The TLC Program follows the Massachusetts Common Core State Standards and includes all fundamental academics.
