Dear Students and Parents,
Welcome back to school. I wanted to send a guideline home with the hope that it
would answer any potential questions or concerns you might have regarding our District
Health Policies. My role is to keep the students and faculty healthy and safe so that they
are able to maximize their learning and education. . If you ever have any questions or
concerns regarding your child, please feel free to call me to discuss them confidentially.
The following is a guideline for some of the Health expectations at MVMS:
If your child becomes sick and is going to be absent, you need to call and leave a
message with the main office. When your child returns to school, you must send them in
with a note to excuse the absence. If you have concerns over a lengthy absence and
missed work, please contact both the Health Office and your child’s Guidance
Counselor.
If your child is injured and/or is unable to participate in Physical Education class, the
following is a guideline for what to do:
1.) For a one- two day excuse: (i.e. recovering from an illness, cold etc.)
A parent/ guardian note is required for the PE teacher.
2.) For any time greater that a few days, a physician/medical note is
required for the student’s health record in the Health Office. Again, if your
child is going to miss an extended amount of Physical Education class please give the Health Office and Guidance Counselor a call.
